How Long Do Natural & Organic Products Last?
Shelf Life, Storage Tips & How to Tell if a Product is Still Good
One of the most common (and most important) questions we receive at Yummylicious Skincare is:
“How long do your products last?”
And we love this question — because it shows awareness of what truly authentic, organic skincare is all about.
Our products are made fresh, in small batches, using ingredients from nature — not a laboratory.
That means they are vibrant, nutrient-rich, and full of life.
But like anything living and natural, they deserve a little care and attention.
Note: Our products are never designed to sit unused for years — they are crafted to be loved and used regularly.
How Should I Store My Yummylicious Products?
√ Store in a cool, dry place — away from direct sunlight or heat.
√ Keep lids and caps tightly closed after each use.
√ Avoid leaving products in steamy bathrooms or hot cars.
√ Use clean hands or tools when applying creams.
If you won’t use a product for an extended period — refrigeration can help prolong freshness (especially creams or toners).
How Do I Know If A Product Is Still Good?
Signs It’s Still Fresh:
√ Smells fresh and botanical
√ Color is consistent with how it looked when first opened
√ Texture is smooth and pleasant
Signs It May Be Time to Replace:
√ Noticeable change in scent (rancid, sour, or “off” smell)
√ Unusual separation (does not blend when shaken)
√ Visible mold or discoloration
√ Texture has changed significantly (lumpy, sticky, gritty)
But Wait — Isn’t Ingredient Separation Normal?
Yes — in many organic products, gentle separation of oils or natural extracts is perfectly normal (especially when free of heavy stabilizers or synthetic emulsifiers).
Simply shake or stir the product gently to re-blend.
This is Why We Don’t Sell Our Products in Stores
At Yummylicious Skincare, we made a clear choice:
We don’t sell through department stores or third-party retailers.
Why?
Because fresh, living skincare does not belong in a warehouse waiting to be shelved — only to sit again waiting to be sold.
Products that are built to last forever on a store shelf have to contain chemicals to stay stable that long.
Our skincare was never meant for that.
We chose a direct-to-consumer model because we want you to receive our products the way they were made — fresh, pure, and ready to nourish your skin.
From our hands to yours.
Final Thought:
Fresh skincare is living skincare.
At Yummylicious, we don’t add harsh preservatives or fillers just to make a product last forever — because we believe skincare should be as fresh and vital as the skin it nourishes.
“Nature doesn’t sit still — and neither should your skincare.”
Love your products. Use them daily. Let your skin drink in the benefits.
